(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Spanish data protection authority AEPD announced this week it has opened an online public consultation on cloud computing.
Running through until January 27, the consultation is designed to gauge the opinions of service providers and cloud computing clients, as well as individual users, academics and experts.
The consultation addresses nearly all aspects of cloud computing in terms of how it relates to data protection.
These include questions on current legislation, service guarantees and their impact on international transfer rules.
Earlier this year, Telefonica acquired Spanish cloud hosting provider acens in a deal that was expected to boost the Spanish cloud market with Telefónica increasing its capacity to provide cloud computing services to SMB.
